Before going to bed she did this........
I woke up and went to start my coffee and I passed this on the carpet. I thought, darn Rugrats leave stuff wherever they feel like dropping it..ughhhhh
..most parents are shouting out a big AMEN right now...... (most times this would have been the case)
But as I got closer this is what I found.......... It was a note from my up late doing homework Rugrat.....
It says: (we need to work on spelling but it melted my heart that she did this)
IF YOU ARE WONDERING WHY THE TOWEL IS HEAR. IT'S CAUSE I CLEANED UP DOG PEE SO IF THEAR IS ENEYTHING LEFT BEFORE I GET WOKEN UP PLEASE GET IT DONE AND I PUT THE CARPET STUFF ON IT SO IF THEIR IS WHITE DONT WORRY CAUSE I GOT IT DOWN.
This is Nestlie........ Nestlie is responsible for the dog pee. She is getting old and has a hard time getting around. There was a time she would have NEVER EVER DREAMED of going pee in the house, in fact she wouldn't go anywhere around the house. She always took off into the field to go.
Now........now she sees the carpet as the perfect spot to hobble over to, go pee and then lay down.....
It's tough to see her getting old. She is so happy when she is spending time with us and the Rugrats, it will hurt when she is no longer with us......
Our Rugrats love Nestlie very much and I'm so proud of them for jumping in and helping take care of our old friend.
I just had to share....
Ciao Bellas~
Awww, that seriously broke my heart. How precious of your girl to clean up after the dog, especially after being up late doing homework. Nestlie has obviously lived a good life and been well loved, as evidenced by the mani-pedi. I used to paint my childhood dog's toes too! But always pink.
ReplyDeleteThat was heartwarming - sort of reminded me when my son took such good care of his gram her last year with us. He was amazing cleaning up "messes" too - and walking her around the property, fixing her meals, taking her to town... kids are awesome.
ReplyDeleteMama H- We do love our pets so much. The rugrats always paint their nails. They actually usually enjoy having them do it. Love that you used to paint your dogs too.
ReplyDeleteLBD- What a good son you have! Kids are awesome. How sweet of him to do all those things for his gram. Memories made that will last a life time.
That's what I'm talking about - instilling respect for property, loved ones, parents, love, love love LOVE! You are doing a fabulous job MOMMA - and will certainly emulate!
ReplyDeleteDeanna- You are soooooo sweet! Thank you for the compliment. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteI loved that. What a sweet daughter you have and a cutie! We just lost our old dog this past fall, so I know how your feeling!
ReplyDeletebummer about the carpet but OH SOOOOO precious with the note! good for her. Gotta love the ole dog pee on the carpet days UGH:(
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post ...
ReplyDeleteYour GORGEOUS rugrat is a sweet, sensitive girl. What a wonderful young woman she'll grow up to be!
And I love Nestlie's aqua toes!
I know she has given your family great joy throughout the years. We also have a dog, Gabby, who is getting along. Those pets become a big part of the family and it's hard to see them get old. However hard it is, there are great lessons learned for the children ... and us ... about aging.
Congratulations on raising such a lovely daughter!
♥ Good girl for cleaning up the mess! I would have thought the same thing at first! So nice when they put what we teach them into practice! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's precious.
